This is great because you can make your minimum payment, and if you pay off the card balance within 12 months, you'll pay no fees. This means that you can transfer balances from a high interest credit card to your new card, making it easier to pay off old debts.

Other things you may want to check for are special programs. Some credit card companies offer cash back programs, frequent flyer miles, or other rewards programs. When choosing your credit card, you need to select one that has a program that is catered toward your individual needs. If you travel a lot, you might benefit from a card that offers you free frequent flyer miles each time you make a purchase. Maybe you'd rather receive 5% cash back every time you make a purchase. If neither of these options appeal to you, many companies offer other rewards programs.
